For employers

Employee Benefits

On-site benefits and Wellness Lounges that connect employees to resilience where they already are: at work, mid-shift, without an appointment somewhere else.

Your greatest asset is your people

ResilienceONE connects employees to resilience through on-site employee benefits and Wellness Lounges. We offer integrative health services to reduce stress and support well-being, creating a culture that enables a sustainable work environment.

We envision organisations comprised of a workforce where individuals reach their full potential through physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. Our programmes increase behavioural, cognitive, and social or emotional engagement through stress resiliency coaching, nutrition education, movement, and access to integrative therapies including acupuncture and massage.

The first lounge opened in 2015 at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s – Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children in Denver, for employees and physicians. Rose Medical Center followed in 2018. In 2023 Progressive Health’s 501(c)(3) raised $45,000 to award more than 170 scholarships to HCA healthcare workers for massage, acupuncture, and health coaching.

What is on offer

Each of these runs on site, during the working day, and is designed to be used in the gaps that already exist in a shift rather than requiring anyone to find time they do not have. The usual way in is a twelve-week pilot of coaching and training, then a year with Roaming Wellness on the units, then a designed lounge and the reporting that goes with it.

  • Employee Wellness Lounge

A staffed room on site: massage chairs, an aromatherapy bar, integrative health tools and a library, meditation, and a health coach. Data reporting includes a two-way text feedback system. Not a quiet room and a fruit bowl.

  • Roaming Wellness™

Our Health Coaches are Certified Resilience Trainers, using Dr. Sood’s SMART resiliency training as a structured approach to enhance engagement and emotional intelligence based on neuroscience.

    About Roaming Wellness

  • Thrive Resilience Course™

An evidence-based, accredited training course to improve resilience using models for the neuroscience of change.

  • Health Coaching

Make lasting health behaviour changes with a nationally board certified health coach. Individualised plans to help you reach specific health goals and create sustainable change.

    About health coaching

Two lounges, already built

Both are in Denver hospitals. Both are staffed. The point of the numbers is scale you can picture, not a claim that every site will look the same.

  • P/SL-RMHC

1,800 hospital employees. 450 square feet, serving 10 departments. In 2024 the lounge averaged 461 visits a month.

  • Rose Medical Center

1,000 hospital employees. 900 square feet, with an activity area, a massage-chair room, and a treatment room.

What is in the room

This is the kit that sat in the Denver lounges. A new site is designed around the staff and the space you actually have, but it is not an empty room with a poster.

  • 3 massage chairs
  • Aromatherapy bar
  • Integrative health tools and library
  • Two-way text feedback and data reporting
  • CRM software and app
  • iPads and headphones
  • Meditation music and apps
  • Staffed by a health coach

What nurses said at Rose

Rose Medical Center wrote this as part of a Magnet narrative. Nurses on 12-hour shifts needed somewhere to manage stress without leaving the building. Before the lounge, 63% did not believe they had resources available at work.

6.4 → 5.7Nurse perceived stress
October 2018 to April 2019, after the space was redesigned for stress reduction and the lounge was in use.
36% → 75%Knew resources were available
Nurses’ perception that stress-reduction resources were available at work, over the same stretch.
63%Did not believe they had resources
The starting point: nearly two thirds of nurses did not think self-care and stress management existed for them on shift.

How a hospital typically starts

The work is built in phases so you are not asked to stand up a lounge before anyone has used the coaching.

  • Crawl · 12-week pilot

Health coaching and group training, in person and virtual, with the software that tracks the day-to-day. Individual behaviour change, and a team that has started to use the same language.

  • Walk · first year

The pilot, plus Roaming Wellness on the units: on-site services with a health coach, and massage and acupuncture brought to the floor.

  • Run · year two and after

A designed wellness lounge and a managed well-being system: tracking software, project management, and reporting you can take to a board.
